Data we process
Identification and contact details you provide (name, phone, email), the content of your message and the details of the vehicle you are looking for (brand, model, budget, mileage, year, fuel, equipment). If you submit a review, we also process the review text, your public name and any photographs you choose to upload. Basic technical browsing data and the page you contacted us from are also recorded.
Purposes and legal basis
1) Handling your enquiries, sourcing vehicles and preparing quotations: pre-contractual measures at your request (art. 6.1.b GDPR). 2) Managing the purchase, import and registration you contract: performance of the contract (art. 6.1.b). 3) Complying with tax, accounting and registration obligations: legal obligation (art. 6.1.c). 4) Publishing your review and photographs on the site: consent (art. 6.1.a), which you may withdraw at any time. 5) Non-essential cookies and analytics: consent (art. 6.1.a). 6) Site security and abuse prevention: legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f).
Retention periods
Enquiries that do not lead to a contract are kept while they are being handled and for up to one year afterwards, unless you ask us to delete them. Data from completed transactions is kept for the duration of the relationship and then blocked for the applicable legal periods (up to 6 years for commercial and accounting purposes, plus applicable tax periods). Published reviews are kept until you withdraw your consent.
Recipients
We do not sell your data. Providers acting as data processors may access it where needed to deliver the service: website hosting and infrastructure, email, and internal management tools. Where the transaction requires it, data is shared with public authorities (Spanish tax agency, traffic authority, roadworthiness test centres), administrative agencies, insurers, financing entities and the vehicle's seller in Germany, on the basis of contract performance or a legal obligation.
International transfers
Our providers generally process data within the European Economic Area. If any provider processes data outside the EEA, it will be done with appropriate safeguards (adequacy decision or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses).
Your rights
You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing, portability and not to be subject to automated decisions, and withdraw your consent at any time, by writing to cartagenagermancars@gmail.com stating the right you wish to exercise. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es, C/ Jorge Juan 6, 28001 Madrid).
Accuracy and minors
You warrant that the data provided is accurate and that, if you provide third-party data, you have informed them beforehand. Our services are not aimed at children under 14; we do not knowingly collect their data.
Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data (role-based access control, encryption in transit, restricted photo storage and activity logs), proportionate to the risk of the processing.
